Reading my devotion...
You know it's super hard forgetting what someone has done to you in the past that really hurt so super bad...I mean I always forgive that person for what they have done to me in the past, but yeah it's just hard forgetting alot of things in my past...I know the past is the past, but it's just super hard to forget...I mean it's not eating me up like how it use too, but it's just something I can't ever forget it happened...I mean not only once it happens twice in fact...Yeah but I know that I need to forget about it, and I'm trying...I know it will take time...I always wanted to be just happy, and never angry nor sad...I don't like upsetting people as well, and it does make me feel really bad when I do upset someone, and didn't mean to do so...so right away when I know i said something wrong or hurt someone, and didn't mean too I always say i'm sorry right away...yet it eats me up later for doing something to someone...=( yup but past is past...and just need to learn how to forgive and forget...=)

Shari, try this approach:
While listening to Dr. Laura one day (yes, I do that sometimes), a caller asked Dr. Laura how she can forgive and forget something that her husband had done. Dr. Laura said that you can forgive, but you can never forget.
Got that? YOU CAN NEVER FORGET. So stop hurting your head and upsetting your soul by trying to do the impossible.
Instead, accept it, learn from it, and move on. In time, it'll be such a small part of your history that it won't be so apparent in your mind. In a way, you do forget about it.
But it can always resurface if you allow it to. IF YOU ALLOW IT TO.
So Shari, don't stress yourself out "trying to forget" because it can't be done. Take a deep breath, chalk it up as a lesson in life, then move forward.
